1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Clean Inbox ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any modifications to these terms.

2. Description of Service

Clean Inbox is an email analysis and management tool that helps you identify, categorize, and delete junk emails in your Gmail account. The Service:

  • Analyzes your email metadata and content to identify junk emails
  • Categorizes emails (OTP, newsletters, transactions, etc.)
  • Provides storage usage statistics
  • Displays results in real-time
  • Allows you to select emails for deletion with a one-week review period
  • Stores only message IDs (not email content) during the review period

3. User Eligibility

To use Clean Inbox, you must:

  • Be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA)
  • Have a valid Gmail account
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
  • Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable laws

4. User Obligations and Responsibilities

4.1 Account Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your Gmail account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Ensuring your OAuth authorization is secure
  • Revoking access if you suspect unauthorized use

4.2 Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purposes
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Use automated tools to access the Service (bots, scrapers, etc.)
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Impersonate any person or entity

5. OAuth Authorization and Access

When you authorize Clean Inbox to access your Gmail account:

  • You grant us temporary, limited access to your Gmail data
  • We will only access the specific permissions you authorize
  • You can revoke access at any time through your Google Account settings
  • Access tokens expire automatically after a set period

Important: We request access to read and delete your Gmail messages. You remain in complete control of which emails are deleted. We cannot send emails or modify your account settings beyond deleting the specific emails you select.

6. Data Processing and Privacy

Our data handling practices are detailed in our Privacy Policy. Key points:

  • We process your email data in real-time only
  • We do not store your email content—only message IDs during the one-week deletion review period
  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties
  • We comply with Gmail API policies, GDPR, and CCPA
  • You can review and cancel scheduled deletions during the review period

By using the Service, you consent to data processing as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Service Availability

Clean Inbox is provided on an "as available" basis. We strive to maintain 99% uptime but do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Specific performance or speed benchmarks
  • Compatibility with all devices or browsers
  • Availability during maintenance periods

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without prior notice.

8. Intellectual Property Rights

8.1 Our Rights

All content, features, and functionality of Clean Inbox (including but not limited to software, text, graphics, logos, and design) are owned by Clean Inbox and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8.2 Your Rights

You retain all rights to your email data. By using the Service, you do not grant us any ownership rights to your data.

8.3 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of analysis results
  • Security or privacy (though we implement best practices)
  • Compatibility with your specific needs

Email Analysis Accuracy: While we strive for accurate categorization, the Service may not identify all junk emails or may misclassify some emails. You should review results before taking any action.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CLEANINBOX SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
  • Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account
  • Errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies in analysis results
  • Service interruptions or unavailability
  • Any third-party conduct or content

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED $100 USD OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE THE SERVICE (IF ANY), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Clean Inbox, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use or misuse of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Any unauthorized access to your account

12. Third-Party Services

Clean Inbox integrates with Google Gmail API. Your use of Gmail is subject to Google's terms of service and privacy policy. We are not responsible for:

  • Google's services or policies
  • Changes to Gmail API functionality
  • Interruptions in Gmail service
  • Google's data handling practices

13. Termination

13.1 By You

You may stop using the Service at any time by revoking OAuth access through your Google Account settings.

13.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service:

  • If you violate these Terms
  • If we suspect fraudulent or illegal activity
  • If required by law or legal process
  • At our sole discretion for any reason

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and Clean Inbox regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
